Outdoor Wedding 24

Are you planning an outdoor wedding in Scotland? Look no further than the beautiful story of Sarah and Andrew, whose wedding took place in Greenock, Scotland. As a wedding photographer in Scotland, I had the privilege of capturing their special day.

We first met in 2019 to discuss their June 4, 2021 wedding, which was planned to be a grand affair for 150 guests on a beachside tent. However, a few months later, the Covid-19 restrictions came into effect, forcing them to change their plans.

A Intimate and Magical Garden Wedding

Despite the restrictions, Sarah and Andrew didn't give up on their wedding. Instead, they decided to have an intimate ceremony in their parents' garden in Greenock, with a smaller number of guests. And what a beautiful venue it was! Andrew's parents' garden was full of greenery, flowers and provided a wonderful setting for the wedding. Andrew also made sure that those who couldn't be there in person could still join in on the celebration by watching a live stream of the ceremony.

A Traditional Scottish Quaich Ceremony

During the wedding ceremony, I was reminded of the traditional Scottish Quaich ceremony. The Quaich is a two-handled love cup that seals the bond between two people and symbolizes the mixing of two families. As the newlyweds enjoy their first drink of their marriage together, it also represents the love and trust that they share. Sarah and Andrew chose to drink Talisker Skye Single Malt Whiskey as part of this ceremony. Following the ceremony, we took a fantastic ride in Andrew's father's car, where we took some beautiful wedding photographs.

A Unique Twist: A Pizza Corner at a Wedding

Are you looking for unique and creative ideas for your outdoor wedding? One thing that Sarah and Andrew did that was a hit with their guests was to create a pizza corner. They enlisted the help of an Italian restaurant, Toninon, to provide a make-your-own pizza station straight from the oven. It was a fun and delicious addition to the reception that added to the cozy and homely atmosphere.
